The Police are often easily accused of being hand-in-glove with corrupt politicians. Here are the famous IPS officers in India who are not afraid of anything at all:

1. Shivdeep Lande

Shivdeep Waman Lande is an IPS Officer since 2006. He arrested a lot of criminals, ranging from fake cosmetic sellers to the medicine mafia. He has done a lot of work against eve-teasing. Shivdeep donates 60 % of his salary to the social organizations which arrange marriages for poor girls. When Shivdeep Lande was posted in Patna, he created havoc on criminals. Especially his strictness on the goons had made his image of a hero among the girls of college and school. To teach a lesson to the miscreants and to be available at any time to help the girls, he had distributed his personal mobile number among the girls. The result of distribution of numbers by Shivdeep was that the streets of the capital were gradually wiped out. In fact, on a complaint, Shivdeep Lande himself used to reach out to teach a lesson to the miscreants.

2. Sachin Atulkar

Sachin considers himself a fitness freak and exercises daily for a fit body. In 1999, Sachin played cricket at the national level and has won a gold medal for the same. He is also a pro at horse riding and has won a gold medal for it. According to him, exercise keeps stress at bay and it keeps the mind fresh.

A 2005 batch IPS officer known as 'Supercop' of Bihar is an inspiration for millions of young people. Manu Maharaj himself led many actions in different districts. In between, the picture of him going for action with AK-47 also became quite viral. This picture is from during his Patna SSP, when Manu Maharaj himself reached the spot with an AK-47 to settle a gang war. During his posting in Gaya district, he carried out many operations against Naxalites. The way Manu Maharaj handled his responsibility in different districts with great ability, due to this there has been a lot of craze among the youth about him.

Maharaj hails from Himachal Pradesh. He did his early studies in Shimla, then he did his BTech from IIT Roorkee. After studying engineering, Manu Maharaj started preparing for UPSC and became an IPS officer.

4. Gaurav Tiwari

Gaurav Tiwari, a 2010 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh, did such a miracle during his tenure in Katni district that people became his fan. The support that Gaurav Tiwari got from the general public made him a hero overnight. Gaurav Tiwari was born in a farmer family in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. After completing his schooling in the village, Gaurav completed his engineering. He started a job in Tata company. But the desire to do something different remained in his mind. Gaurav worked with Tata for two years and moved to Delhi and started preparing for UPSC.

IPS Gaurav Tiwari has been the SP of Balaghat, Katni, Chhindwara. In all three districts, he came into the limelight due to his works in a short time. His tenure was also surrounded by controversies, so all three places became popular among the public. In Balaghat, he exposed the case of smuggling by illegal harvesting of well-known timber. In this, the names of the Rangers of the Forest Department to the officers of the Revenue Department and the then Collector were also exposed. Fake TP (Transit Permit) was also exposed during his tenure. In Balaghat itself, the case of vehicle-trading was exposed by making fake registration of vehicles.

When Tiwari was transferred from Balaghat and sent to Katni, he closed the gambling and controlled illegal mining. The Rs 500 crore hawala scam was caught in the district and after some time he was transferred due to alleged political pressure. After this, traders and common citizens of Katni lodged a protest by keeping the city closed. Candle march was also taken out.

5. Sanjukta Parashar

Known as Iron Lady of Assam Sanjukta Parashar is the courageous officer who took down 16 militants. Not only this, during the 15 months in Assam, she also caught many terrorists alive and seized tons of arms and ammunition. Sanjukta Parashar first became the Assistant Commandant of Makum in the year 2008.

Sanjukta Parashar said that at the age of 23, the idea of ??appearing in the UPSC examination came to her mind. In the year 2006, Sanjukta made her dream come true with hard work and secured 85th rank in the All India Civil Services Examination and is an IPS officer from the 2006 batch. She was entrusted with the responsibility of controlling the ethnic violence between Bodo and illegal Bangladeshi militants that took place in Udalguri. She became one of the most feared police officers among Bodo militants when she headed a team of CRPF soldiers with AK-47 in Sonitpur district which is a terror-infested region.

Sanjukta graduated in Political Science from IP College, Delhi University, and did a master¡¯s in International Relations from JNU also earned an M.Phil in US foreign policy.

6. Sonia Narang

Sonia Narang born in Chandigarh is the daughter of retired Deputy Superintendent of Police is a 2002 batch IPS officer and is her role model. She is also the Gold medalist in Sociology from Punjab University. During her service, Narang was posted in many big cities of Karnataka. It is the result of her honesty and perseverance that wherever she went, the criminals were forced to run away. She came into the limelight when she slapped a BJP MLA, Renukacharya and put him behind the bar in 2006 during the protest between Congress and BJP party. Then IPS officer Sonia Narang publicly slapped BJP leader Renukacharyaa and also sent him behind the bars.

In 2013 she was accused of being involved in the Rs. 16,000 crore mining scam by former Karnataka's Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah but Narang refused all the allegations in the statement.

"This is with reference to the news item, which highlighted that the honourable CM has stated in the legislative assembly that I have helped illegal miners. In this connection, I would like to strongly refute the allegation that I have helped illegal mining. I have never worked in the areas where illegal mining was being done, be it Bellary, Chitradurga or any other such place. So where is the question of helping or encouraging illegal mining? Nor have I worked in the mining department ever," she said in a statement.

7. Shrestha Thakur

In June 2017, Shreshtha Thakur, a police officer of Syana circle in district Bulandshahr stood up against a local BJP leader who was creating a ruckus with the help of her cronies. Her video of an argument with a BJP leader went viral and she was lauded for her courage. Shreshtha sent five of them to jail for creating hurdles in discharging government duties but the state government didn¡¯t like her valour as it was shown against its own people. If reports are to be believed, 11 MLAs of the area and MP met the Chief Minister over this issue and a week later, she was transferred to Bahraich on July 2.

It¡¯s about time officers like Thakur stand fearlessly against such goons and not bow down to hooliganism. She is indeed a true Dabang IRL!

8. Sangeeta Kalia

The daughter of a retired carpenter in Fatehabad police, Haryana, Sangeeta Kalia did her schooling from Bhiwani and took the UPSC exam for the first time in 2005 and passed the UPSC exam in the third attempt in 2009.

In November 2016, an IPS Sangeeta Kalia posted in Fatehabad, Haryana refused to bow before the mood swings of cabinet minister Anil Vij. During a meeting over liquor smuggling, the minister accused the smuggling is happening because of the police protection, the officer opposed the minister's argument and that¡¯s where the minister got irked.

He shouted and told her to ¡®get out¡¯. But instead of buckling down to the minister's order, she refused to vacate and asked the question most politicians hate to answer why. "We are taking action. We have registered over 2,500 cases. Many of these people come out on bail and indulge in smuggling again," Kalia told the minister. Later, Kalia was transferred.

During her postings on Fatehabad, Rewari, and Panipat, she launched various new initiatives for empowering women and building up strong police public relationships. She had received massive responses from people to her programs. Known for honesty, she is one of the best IPS officers. One of the programs she introduced under the banner of ¡°Sashakt mahila sashakt samaj, aao kare ek saanjhi shuruaat¡± was very successful.

IPS officer Soumya Sambasivan is the first female Superintendent of Police (SP) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, who is also known for her strict disciple who solved six murder cases including two blind murder mysteries when she posted in Sirmaur district for two years. Soumya achieved many such successes, in which not only Sirmaur Police but Himachal Police also made a lot of headlines. She graduated in Bio subject and after that, she did M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance. In addition, she has also worked in a multinational bank. To prevent incidents of molestation of school and college girls, Soumya also trains them to make special sprays. This liquid, prepared with the help of chilli, refined and nail paint, After spraying it once, goons continue to bear the brunt of it for half an hour and they cannot even open their eyes till the effect lasts.
