Representation Done Right: Burberry's New Ad With A 4-Year Old Sikh Kid Is Winning Praises!
Sahib's parents, who handle his social media accounts, shared a poignant post about their son's enriching experience of featuring in Burberry's campaign.
Representation and inclusivity in any form is endearing. Brands have now become more conscious of their choices and take extra measures to ensure their campaigns are meaningful.
Currently, a brand that is earning a lot of praise online for its ad campaign is Burberry.
The Indian community is lauding Burberry, a British luxury brand, for its most recent advertisement. Desis applaud Burberry's subtle gesture of representation in this ad, which features a Sikh child wearing a black patka while wearing a jacket from the brand's children's collection for their "back to school" designs.
The ad's photographs have gained a lot of attention on social media.
The 4-year-old Sikh model, Sahib Singh, was featured in the ad among children of other ethnicities.
In addition, internet users are praising the company for representing the Sikh community and promoting inclusivity and diversity.
Sahib's parents, who handle his social media accounts, shared a poignant post about their son's enriching experience of featuring in Burberry's campaign.
Here is the note Sahib's parents posted:
"BTS shooting for Burberry ?
On this journey, we have gone through so many different emotions.
?We have felt a few disappointments when Sahib isn¡¯t chosen for a job. We have never told him about any shoots until he¡¯s fully confirmed as he doesn¡¯t need to feel the emotions involved.
?The stress when the council refuses his license to ¡°perform.¡± Never underestimate a parent who wants the world for their child!
?The joy and pride I felt at the shoot was overwhelming. I couldn¡¯t hold back the tears seeing Sahib recognized by this iconic brand. So grateful to them for pushing boundaries and always producing the best work.
People may think many positive and negative things about us, but we know what we want our kids to know and feel. Nothing is impossible.
Modeling may not be Sahib¡¯s career, and that¡¯s fine. But whether Sutch and Sahib want to be footballers, artists, or chefs. They know they don¡¯t have to stick to traditions, and the sky is the limit."
On the internet, many individuals expressed their delight upon seeing Sahib.
