Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Ranked 2nd Amazing Railway Station In World, By Wonderlist
Travel website, Wonderlist, recently made a list of ¡®World¡¯s 10 Most Amazing Railway Stations¡¯. The list had the names of railway stations from around the world which are ¡®architectural triumphs as well as historical relics¡¯.
New York¡¯s Grand Central Terminal ranked number one on the list and the number two spot was given to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) Mumbai! As you would know, it is one of country's busiest stations, and bridges three railway lines. Recently, the station was ranked second on the list of World¡¯s Most Amazing Railway Stations.
Central Railways took to Twitter to announce this information:

CMST was built in 1888, supposedly to commemorate 50 years of Queen Victoria¡¯s crowning. It is also the only railway station that has made it to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites. This is a pretty big deal. This 131-year-old railway station was built by Frederick William Stevens. He blended the traditional Mughal and Victorian Gothic architecture.This station was earlier known as Victoria Terminus (VT) but it was renamed after the Maratha king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
