According to The South China Morning Post, Tang Jian, 52, has received praise from the Chinese public for his plan to raise money by setting up a street stall in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou to repay the enormous debt of 52 crore that he faces after declaring bankruptcy.
The money he raises will be used to repay the enormous debt he faces due to going bankrupt.
The news source also said, citing The Qianjiang Evening News, that Tang was a successful businessman who owned several restaurants and had a lot of money by the time he was 36.
But in 2005, he ventured into landscape engineering, and things turned around for him. To the extent that he put himself into the business, he lost money.
His restaurants, residences, and cars were sold off to pay off his debts of $6.4 million (Rs 52 crore). It was at that point that he had the idea to sell sausages.
"Every sausage is genuinely filled with meat, and there is no starch. When compared with those sold in amusement parks or markets, ours will make you feel safer," Tang was quoted as saying by the news outlet.
"Each of us lives a challenging life and encounters many difficulties, but we must hold on to a spirit of never being defeated," Tang said.
