'Bach Gaye': Twitter Gets Flooded With Videos After Delhi-NCR Felt Earthquake Tremors

Yesterday was a rather unexpected wake-up call for all Delhites. Earthquake tremors shook people out of their comfy beds and brought the majority out on the streets.

Earthquake Of 6.6 Magnitude Hit Afghanistan On Tuesday

On Tuesday, an earthquake of 6.6 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Afghanistan. The tremors of the earthquake shook Delhi, the NCR, and parts of north India. The effects of the tectonic clash lasted for several seconds. After people noticed their houses and ceilings shaking uncontrollably, many rushed to get out of their houses and gathered on the streets in the open.

Well, like every other remotely life-threatening situation, Delhiites once again proved that whatever the case, they can turn it into an entertaining stay. After getting on the streets and waiting for things to settle down, people seemingly turned their scary encounters with nature into a fun night stroll.

Videos of people roaming around in the streets of Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida flooded Twitter. One clip gave a glimpse of how the residents of high-rise societies in Noida were out on the streets.

Another clip came right from the operation room of a hospital. A stark contrast from Delhi's nonchalance, the clip was from Jammu and Kashmir¡¯s SDH Bijbehara Hospital in Anantnag. The video showcased how doctors were caught up in the earthquake while performing a Caesarean section. Fortunately, it has been reported that the doctors and the staff at the hospital completed the surgery smoothly and safely.

A Twitter user shared visuals of the tremor from her house in Noida. She shared how her whole house shook with the ceiling fans and chandeliers rocking profusely back and forth.

People Gathered Out On The Streets After The Earthquake

A CCTV camera video from Delhi-NCR showed how people launched into a panic after feeling the shock. Twitter user Mukund shared the video and wrote, "#earthquake in Delhi ncr. Think about your priorities humans. Your time is now. Can you differentiate between dogs and humans now. Run for your life. Even your own home is your enemy at this moment. Run and see how far you can from a danger."

Yet another clip showed how idle Delhiites can be as people stood vacantly on the streets, confused and scared after the tremors were felt.

Another video from Noida demonstrated the desi way of life, where people were seen strolling and having casual get-togethers, even relishing ice cream after the quake. "Indians can find joy in anything!! Scenes after earthquake," wrote Priyanshu Idnani when he shared the video.
