Around 300 stray dogs have been poisoned to death during the last 20 days by panchayat officials of Kanteru Village in Andhra Pradesh&rsquos Guntur district. Police will visit the village tomorrow and send the bodies of stray dogs for post mortem to find whether they are poisoned.
Dogs are possibly the most loyal and adorable creatures on the planet. And even if they weren't cute and cuddly, there's no reason good enough to hurt, torture or kill them. How people can be so cruel to animals, is beyond us.
From beating them up from entering a society to molesting them, there is no dearth of examples that show how inhuman we can be. Now, an animal welfare organisation has alleged that around 300 stray dogs have been poisoned to death during the last 20 days, by panchayat officials of Kanteru Village in Andhra Pradesh¡¯s Guntur district.
An FIR was filed by the animal welfare organisation in Tadikonda police station. Tadikonda Sub Inspector Rajasekhar said that the 'Help For Animal Society' NGO, has lodged a complaint at the police station on Wednesday.

People of the ¡®Help For Animal Society¡¯ NGO, said that the incident took place 20 days ago in which 300 dogs of the village were allegedly poisoned.
The police registered an FIR under Section 429 of the IPC and protection of cruelty to animals act section 11(1)(L). "The police will visit the village tomorrow, and send the bodies of stray dogs for post mortem to find whether they are poisoned," the sub-inspector said.
Incidents like this are really heartbreaking and they show the apathy of the so-called ¡®superior species¡¯ towards animals. It is not just barbaric, but also sad that there are people who do not feel remorse or guilt in killing innocent animals.
