This year, Durga Puja will be observed from October 1 and will go on till October 5, because in Kolkata, Durga Puja is a six-day long festival that is observed as Mahalaya, Shashthi, Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami, Maha Nabami, and Vijayadashami.
Durga Puja 2022 starts with Mahalaya (September 25) with the ritual of 'Pran Pratistha', which is done by painting the eyes of the idol goddess Durga. The celebrations culminate on Vijaya Dashami Day, when the idols are immersed in rivers.

The Sreebhumi Sporting Club, which is known for its innovative themes every year, has announced that it will make 'Vatican City' the theme of the worship pandal for Durga Puja. This year, they are also celebrating the Golden Jubilee celebration of Sri Bhoomi Sporting Club located at Bidhannar, Kolkata.
2. Singhi Park
In its 81st year, the south Kolkata puja Singhi Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja Committee has decided to pay tribute to Narayan Debnath and the timeless characters created by him. The entire pandal will be decorated with cartoon strips created by Debnath.

The history of Manicktalla Chaltabagan Lohapatty Durgapuja dates back to 1943 when a young, determined boy ( our founder president, Shri Lakhi Chand Jaiswal, now 87 years old)dreamt of celebrating Durga Puja in the locality (Raja Ram Mohan Roy Sarani) despite the hurdles imposed by the British Raj for the people of North Kolkata.
