How frequently do we witness members of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescuing passengers at stations each year? Virtually every week. RPF personnel are seen in innumerable videos lately, pulling people who somehow managed to get between a train and a station.
However, these instances continue to take place all over India in spite of advice and warnings. They take place as a result of numerous passengers breaking the law and taking needless risks in an effort to get somewhere faster.

The Ministry of Railways has now posted one such event with a warning for passengers that was captured on CCTV.
In the footage, two elderly women are seen attempting to cross the tracks to get to their station and almost getting hit by an approaching train.
Fortunately, the RPF members' quick thinking and quick reflexes saved their lives.
The near escape reportedly took place at Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad railway station.
The Ministry of Railways encouraged users of the video to cross the bridge on foot when transferring between platforms. "Safety is a priority! At the Madhya Pradesh railway station at Hoshangabad, two elderly women were crossing the rails when they were saved by vigilant RPF and GRP officers. To cross from one platform to another, kindly utilise the foot over bridge," tweeted the railway ministry.
Two women can be seen in the video scrambling across the track as a train approaches the station from their left. One of them was walking ahead with bags in her hand while the other was a few feet behind with a headload.
A member of the RPF pulled the woman and her companion to safety as the freight train approached the platform. The women would have died if they had taken two seconds longer.
People shared their issues with the railways
The video prompted people to voice their concerns about the Indian railways. A man wrote, "Is tarah railway patri par karna bahut hi Risky hai, passangers ko aur janta ko bhi jagruk hona hoga."

Another man pointed out, "It is the fault of Hoshangabad Railway. They have destroyed the original footover bridge near ticket window and waiting Hall. Newly made bridge is disaster as even railway employees don't use it."
