The 53 year old Musk took to X to share an exciting update: "Video of the inside of Cortex today, the giant new AI training supercluster being built at Tesla HQ in Austin to solve real-world AI."
This cutting-edge facility is expected to be pivotal in advancing Tesla's AI capabilities, enhancing their electric vehicles, energy products, and more.
In the comments, people expressed their awe.
One user marvelled, "Now THAT's impressive. You need massive clean/cooling power fans. Try a new technology energy efficient nuclear power plant to run those superclusters."
Another praised, "Incredible glimpse into the future! Excited to see how Cortex will push the boundaries of real-world AI. Tesla is truly leading the charge in innovation."
Not everyone was so starstruck, though.
A sarcastic comment read, "And is this supposed to be something that just outperforms humans as real in this world?"
Meanwhile, someone else couldn't resist quipping, "That distance between racks is huge. I really want to see the power bill."
Yet another pointed out an interesting point about the evolution of the sizes of computers:
Wow ?? that is so cool ?

It's amazing how computers ? were once this size.
Then, it reduced to the phone and then nano.
Now Ai is large-scale compute again.
I wonder if, over time, it also condenses ? pic.twitter.com/f84PttVCf3
What is Elon Musk's view on AI?
Elon Musk has consistently raised concerns about the potential dangers of AI and was one of the tech experts who signed an open letter urging a pause in AI development to assess the risks.
In May, Musk predicted that AI would eventually eliminate all jobs, though he suggested this might not be a negative outcome.
Speaking at a tech conference, he said, "Probably none of us will have a job. If you want to do a job that's kinda like a hobby, you can do a job. But otherwise, AI and the robots will provide any goods and services that you want."
Musk has also issued stark warnings about AI's destructive potential.
During a conversation with then-UK PM Rishi Sunak in November 2023, he called AI "the most destructive force in history," reiterating that soon AI could surpass human intelligence and render most jobs obsolete.
He added, "We are seeing the most destructive force in history here. We will have something that is smarter than the smartest human. There will come a point where no job is needed - you can have a job if you want one for personal satisfaction, but the AI will be able to do everything."
