In a now-deleted video on Instagram, social media influencer Sarah Sarosh shared her 'Get Ready With Me' routine where she applied makeup while a voiceover discussed the Kolkata doctor rape-murder case.

As she smiled, winked, and showcased beauty products, the juxtaposition of her lighthearted content with the grim subject matter drew sharp criticism from viewers.

They were quick to condemn Sarosh for trivialising the serious issue.

Although the original video was deleted, it was shared on Reddit where users expressed their shock and disapproval in the comments.

Taking to Instagram, Sarosh later posted a story addressing it.

Here's what she said: "I posted a GRWM reel yesterday which was shot 2 months ago with a voiceover on the current affairs of the rape & murder incident. While editing it I did not realise how tone deaf it would be for the audio and video to not sync and saw it as a way to make more people TALK about the important matters at hand coz even posting a beauty video amongst these news wasn't feeling right. I deleted the video within the first 5 minutes of posting it because the comments made me realise instantly that the messaging is distasteful from my end."
