Iceland Cricket Trolls ECB, Makes Hilarious Pitch To Host India Vs. Pakistan Match
Iceland Cricket threw shade at England's proposal by making a counterproposal while taking a jibe at English weather, ECB tweets and their security arrangements.
The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the most intense sports rivalries in the world. When the two subcontinent powerhouses collide, the whole world has its eyes fixated on the contest.
India vs. Pakistan in a bilateral series
Given that the fixture generates the most money and viewers, it's not hard to see why many nations have offered to host the two Asian giants at a neutral venue.
The last time India faced Pakistan in a bilateral series was 10 years ago, which was a white-ball series. The last Test match between the two nations was played 15 years ago.
It was recently reported that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) offered informally to host matches if India and Pakistan agreed to play a bilateral Test series. ECB deputy chairman Martin Darlow made an offer to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) during the ongoing T20I series between England and Pakistan.
While the ECB has made the offer for its own commercial gains, the Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) laughed off the suggestions and said that no such possibilities might arise, at least in the next few years.
Not wanting to miss out, Iceland Cricket's official Twitter account saw the funny side of the development and responded with a hilarious offer of their own.

We hear @ECB_cricket have offered to host a Test series between India and Pakistan.

We officially announce to @ICC that we are also offering to do the same & can provide near 24 hour daylight in June and July, as well as better Tweets covering the matches. Sniper security too.

"My only problem with this: we won¡¯t know whether it¡¯s a day-night match or a day match or a night match. Other than that, this is a winning offer," a user commented.
"If I ever come to Iceland, I'm going to meet you folks and thank you for making cricket great again," another user said.
I officially support Iceland Cricket. We need to start encouraging cricket globally. This will be a great re-start to that. Back in the 90s i remember watching Papua New Guinea vs UAE qualification match to be recognised as a cricketing nation

I like this proposal more. Having a test in England does not make sense as the days might get washed up anyway. Also, watching cricket in Iceland even on TV would be a unique experience.

Dear Iceland Cricket, whoever manages your Twitter account and your Soccer team needs to become the next Prime Minister of your country. Perhaps, she already is.

What a great country. Daylight savings or not
The last time India and Pakistan played together in a bilateral series was in 2012, when the Men in Green lost the T20I Series and won the ODI Series.
With the BCCI pouring cold water on the reports, it looks like the cricket world will have to wait to see the Asian Giants in a bilateral series. For more trending stories, follow us on Telegram.
