But amid the current COVID-19 crisis in India, many have become apprehensive of taking the traditional route, and are instead shifting to packaged drinks due to fear of catching an infection.
However, a man in Indore has found a fancy and technologically advanced way to sell fresh coconut water without the need to actually touch the fruit. His creativity was an instant hit online!
The now-viral video originally posted on Facebook by a user named Foodie_incarnate features the coconut water cart in question, one that serves the drink in a hygienic way.

The video shows shows a coconut being cut open by an automatic tool instead of the usual machete. The water's then strained through a machine and served clean in a clean disposable glass.
This unique and unorthodox way of extracting coconut water has left people impressed online. The video has so far garnered garnered more than 43 million views on Facebook. According to the video, one glass of this coconut water costs just Rs 50 and seems to be a good option for obvious reasons.

While many appreciated the ¡°unique and hygienic¡± cart, some pointed out to the "unnecessary usage of plastic." "Please stop use of plastic, its better to have coconut water in coconut shell only," one user commented. ¡°A fancy way of serving it makes it look more cool and can be a good option for takeaways," another user said.
"Hygienic is fine but it's a serious blow to the environment Bcz they use plastic cups, straws etc. no need for that. I would prefer to drink directly from coconut using a bamboo or metal straw," another comment read.
