In his series of tweets, the man named, Valerio Capraro, carefully explains how the pandemic situation began from a few towns and spread across their entire country. If you do not want to be in the state they are presently in, go through this thread carefully and make notes.
1. In the first two weeks, only 11 towns were locked down. At this stage there were only a few dead a day. Politicians and epidemiologists were fighting on tv. It¡¯s just a flu. No, it¡¯s not just a flu.

However, as we all know, things did not stop there and the virus spread out across the European nation with the death toll hitting 50 a day.
2. At the end of the second week, it became clear that the virus had spread across several regions in northern Italy. The dead toll touched 50 a day. The Italian government tried to lock down the whole Lombardy plus several provinces.

He also brings up how the media was made aware of the lockdown before it was executed and that put the Northern Italian region in a state of panic.
But the right-wing populists had the brilliant idea to pass to the media a draft of the law, before it became active. People panicked and tried to leave Lombardy before it became red zone.

Unfortunately, the deadly infection spread to the rest of the country which made the President of Italy to announce a complete lockdown of the nation. The death toll witnessed a sharp spike and went from 50 to 200 a day.

The nation-wide spread of the infection led to a breakdown in the medical and health system to the overflowing coronavirus patients. According to Capraro's tweet, in some places, people had to wait for several hours before they could get their hands on an ambulance while a majority of the patients passed away in their homes because they failed to get to the hospital in time.
4. The fourth week, the health system collapsed in some towns in Northern Italy. In Bergamo, you have to wait 7 hours for an ambulance. 87 per cent of people die in their homes, because they don¡¯t make it to the hospital.

He also revealed that allegedly the hospitals do not even have any room to house the dead and the military had to come in and take the dead bodies in trucks.

Now, the infection has spread across the country with a lot of patients being related to those who fled Lombardy when information about the lock down was outed by the media.
5. In the meantime, a lot of people started getting sick in the south of Italy. Today came out a statistics showing that many of these people are the parents and the relatives of those who fled Lombardy the night before the Lombardy lockdown, exactly two weeks ago.

The death toll in Italy has been on a constant high with the numbers drastically growing each day. He also mentions how a supermarket-employee contracting the virus meant that the entire store had to shut down which led to people being deprived of daily necessities.
6. Today is one month. And we had a new record of 627 dead in one day. Yesterday it was 487. Also: one supermarket had to close because an employee got sick and in this case one has to close the whole supermarket. This is really bad if starts happening at a large scale. No food.

In the end, he urges people to do what the whole world is doing - stay at home. In order to contain the infection, staying at home is the only worthwhile thing we can do right now and as responsible citizens, it is our moral duty to keep ourselves and others around us safe.
The message is clear. It¡¯s not just a flu. Stay at home. Don¡¯t let the virus spread exponentially. A small sacrifice today for a huge benefit tomorrow.
