Bank Holidays June 2022: Banks Will Be Closed For 8 Days, Full List Here
Banks will be shut for 8 days in June 2022 including second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks will be closed on all public holidays with some regional holidays depending on the particular state. Regional holidays are decided by respective state governments.
After the list of May 2022 bank holidays, it's time for the sixth month of this year, and with it comes a new set of bank holidays.
Banks will be shut for eight days in June 2022 including second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays. As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks will be closed on all public holidays with some regional holidays depending on the particular state. Regional holidays are decided by respective state governments.
The month of June observes eight bank holidays - the first holiday starts from Maharana Pratap Jayanti on June 2 and other holidays like YMA Day on June 15 will be observed holidays which are applicable to all banks in India except some states and on weekends for all over India.

People will not face any problems in bank-related work as holidays are not frequent or at short intervals and ATMs, cash deposits, online banking and mobile banking will continue to function. These holidays may vary from state to state as holidays are determined keeping in view the local festivals.
According to RBI guidelines, banks are closed on Sundays as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, RBI has declared holidays on June 2 Maharana Pratap Jayanti and June 15 YMA Day/ Guru HargobindĄ¯s Birthday/ Raja Sankranti). Apart from this, there are four Sundays in the month falling on June 5, 12, 19, and 26 and also on the second and fourth Saturdays on June 11 and 25.
According to the Reserve Bank's calendar, apart from the weekend, there are 2 bank holidays in June month. The central government has divided the holidays into three categories, under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, which include Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and BanksĄ¯ Closing of Accounts.

1. June 2 (Thursday) - Maharana Pratap Jayanti
Banks will be closed in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti on 2 June 2022, Thursday. Maharana Pratap, the ruler of Mewar is regarded as one of the greatest warriors in Indian history. Pratap was born to founder of Udaipur, Uday Singh II and Maharani Jaiwanta Bai. He is remembered most for his onslaughts against the Mughals and has been a subject for books, films and television serials. Bharat Ka Veer Putra- Maharana Pratap, the television series based on him has been both critically and commercially acclaimed.
Maharana Pratap was the only Rajput king from the 16th century who was ready to defy Akbar, and succeeded too. Though there was a point in time when he thought of surrendering to the Mughal ruler, but a letter from famous Rajput poet Prithviraj convinced him not to.
According to the English calendar the birth anniversary of the 13th king of Mewar, Maharana Pratap, is celebrated on May 9, 1540, but a large section of the Rajput's across the country celebrates his's birthday on the third day of the Jyeshtha Shukla phase, the third month in the Hindu calendar which will fall on June 2 this year.

3. June 11 (Second Saturday of the month) - Weekend Bank Holiday
All the banks across the country remain closed on the second Saturday of the month on 11 June 2022.
4. June 12 (Sunday) - Weekend Bank Holiday
Banks across the country will be closed on their weekly off on Sunday, 12 June 2022.
5. June 15 (Wednesday) - YMA Day/ Guru Hargobind JiĄ¯s Birthday/ Raja Sankranti

10. June 19 (Sunday) - Weekend Bank Holiday
Banks across the country will be closed on their weekly off on Sunday, 19 June 2022.
12. June 25 (Fourth Saturday of the month) - Weekend Bank Holiday
All the banks in the country remain closed on the fourth Saturday of the month on 25 June 2022.

Banks across the country will be closed on their weekly off on Sunday, 26 June 2022.
