Kerala Cop Comes To Woman's Rescue After Climbing Barefoot On Hill, Convinces Her Not To End Her Life
Displaying an act of humanity, a sub-inspector with the Adimali police station in Idukki helped a 26-year-old tribal woman from ending her life. According to a video shared by the Kerala police department on Facebook, the woman wanted to end her life after her lover refused to marry her.

During this act of humanity, a sub-inspector with the Adimali police station in Idukki helped a 26-year-old tribal woman from ending her life. According to a video shared by the Kerala police department on Facebook, the woman wanted to end her life after her lover refused to marry her.
Sub-inspector K M Santosh said he received a call from the station house officer, Sudheer, informing him about a woman who was on top of a hill near the Kuthiralam Kudi near Adimali, attempting to jump from there to end her life.
Santosh, accompanied by ASI Abba T M, rushed to the spot and found the woman sitting on the edge of the hill.
¡°There was a crowd comprising the settlers of the hamlet and the woman¡¯s friends and relatives when I reached the site. Her family members had tried to reach her but she threatened to jump off the hill,¡± Santosh said, as reported by The New Indian Express.

Santosh had requested the fire and rescue personnel, but he was fearful that the woman would jump by the time the fireman would arrive at the scene. Taking matters into his own hands, Santosh tried to help her. He proceeded to walk along the slippery slope of the hill barefoot.
¡°I kept a distance of five feet from her and spoke to her. I told her that I too have two daughters and promised to find the solution to her issue. Though she was initially reluctant to hear me, she was finally convinced,¡± the officer said, as per the report.
Santosh conversed with the woman for nearly an hour on the hilltop, after she eventually moved away from the edge of the hill. She also promised to come to the police station to attend a counselling session with her parents.
