Talk About Goals! Kerala Couple Quit Their Jobs To Fulfil Their Dream Of Road-Tripping Across India
Harikrishnan J and Lakshmi Krishna quit their 9 to 5 jobs to take a road trip across India.
We all probably have a bucket list - mainly a list of travel goals that we want to achieve. While most of us crib about different things that don't work in our favour to realise those goals, some people always find a way.
When I say find a way, I don't mean quitting your job and traveling across the country. But that's exactly what a Kerala couple has done. Harikrishnan J and Lakshmi Krishna quit their 9 to 5 jobs to take a road trip across India.
What is interesting is the fact that they are travelling in their car to live the travel dream they have been nurturing for long.
¡°Travelling by car has been a dream for a while. We have been planning an international road trip for some time, but with most international borders closed by October, we had to ditch our plan to go on a bike tour to Thailand," Harikrishnan told Conde Nast Traveller (CNT).
The next idea was to travel across India by public transport. Eventually, we decided to travel by car, sleep in the car, cook on our own and explore places at our own pace, as it was safer,¡± he added.

Not only are they travelling in their car, they are also sleeping in the car and exploring places at their own pace. Before they left on their adventure, the couple tweaked everything in their own way. They decided to add additional headrests for the backseats, fold the seats and spread a mattress to convert the backseats into a bed.
When it comes to food, the couple cooks for themselves. "¡°We carry a 5kg gas cylinder and a one-burner stove with minimum essentials. We usually cook in the morning and for lunch, we often make rice which we might have for dinner too,¡± Harikrishnan told CNT. Sometimes, they even dine in Dhabas. They even invite villagers and locals to eat with them as well.
