North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has slipped into a coma and power might be passed on to one of his siblings. According to reports 38-year-old Kim Jong Chul - the son of Kim Jong Il - could be next in line.
Yet again, sensational reports have surfaced claiming that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has slipped into a coma and power might be passed on to one of his siblings.
A few days ago, we heard of the powers being transferred to his younger sister Kim Yo Jong. Kim Yo-jong is understood to be already exercising significant influence within the North Korean government.

South Korea politician, Ha Tae-Kyung, said Kim Yo-jong was helping to run the regime with mandated authority from her brother. But her disappearance from public view is "proof" that the shift in power has begun.
According to reports, 38-year-old Kim Jong Chul - the son of former North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il - could be next in line.

In addition to Kim Jong Un and Kim Yo-Jung, Kim Jong Chul's other sibling was an older half-brother named Kim Jong-Nam. Kim Jong-Nam was assassinated in Malaysia in February 2017. It's widely believed that Kim Jong-Un had his older half-brother assassinated.

39-year-old Kim Jong Chul being the older brother, and he has never been seen as a viable option to lead the country.
A BBC report claims that Kim Jong Chul was never really interested in politics or power, and at most he could be a symbolic link to the Kim family and possibly be appointed to lead a foundation or read the odd speech.
The third of Kim Jong-il's five children, he is said to be more interested in music than politics, which has been suggested based on his travels abroad; but it is also claimed he has his brother's respect.
Technically, Kim Jong Chul could become Kim Jong-Un's successor in the event of the inevitable.
However, according to many experts familiar with the elusive North Korean family, Kim Jong Chul remains "apolitical" and prefers to lead a quiet life in Pyongyang.
