Kshama Bindu, The Woman Who Married Herself, Is Excited For Her Solo Honeymoon In Goa
Kshama, who remains undaunted and happy in the space she has created for herself, is looking forward to the honeymoon.
24-year-old Kshama Bindu, who made headlines for marrying herself, is now geared up for her next step¡ª an exotic honeymoon in Goa, all by herself. Kshama made heads turn and gained drastic opinions from people after she announced sologamy last month.
She went ahead with her promise and ended up marrying herself.
Kshama, who remains undaunted and happy in the space she has created for herself, is looking forward to the honeymoon. In an interview with the Times of India, she said,
"Like any bride, I am very excited about my honeymoon. I will leave for Goa on August 7 and record all my special moments there on my mobile phone."
Kshama is excited to ring on her birthday on August 10. Her bucket list for the Goa trip is set. She has already marked all the places she will soon be visiting.
"I will spend a lot of time at the vibrant Arambol beach, where I can wear a bikini without anyone ogling at me. The beach hosts many events and is one of my favorite and dream destinations in Goa," she said.
Is she worried about all the harassing queries about her "spouse"? Kshama added,
"When I am on a honeymoon, people will know I am married and will obviously ask about my husband. I will get a chance then to explain to them all about sologamy and why I married myself,"
How is Kshama's life post-marriage? She said she is in a happy space and enjoying everything a newlywed does.
"I am very happy and taking good care of myself as couples do after marriage. My friends and family have been very supportive," said Bindu,
According to the report, Bindu had to vacate her flat in the Subhanpura area after her neighbors constantly nagged her over the constant 'flood of visitors' in her home.
Bindu added, "I have also changed my job. I have some savings that I will use for my honeymoon, and upon return, I will apply for marriage registration."
In another interview with Al Jazeera, Kshama said the best part about her marriage to herself is she doesn't have to think about 'anyone else' while taking decisions. She was quoted as saying,
"I don¡¯t need anybody else¡¯s validation. I don¡¯t have to think about moving to a different city because my partner has to move. I can think just about myself."
Bindu got married ahead of her planned schedule because of constant trolling and even refusal from the temple priest.
She married by playing divine wedding mantras on a Bluetooth speaker, wearing wedding garlands herself, and took vows on 8th June.
According to Bindu, she did not want to accept any criticism, and as an aftermath of regular trolls and social media criticism, she conducted her wedding silently at home.
Affirming herself "happy," she said, "I want to give only one answer to the trollers: that it is my life, and I have taken this decision for myself." When asked if she would ever marry somebody else in her life", she said, "I might start liking someone in the future, but it is not necessary that I will be somebody¡¯s wife."
She also underlined that she will stay tied with this ¡®knot with herself¡¯ and will not marry again.
Bindu is a young private firm employee who set an example of 'self-love as she decided to marry herself with all the rituals and customs of a Hindu wedding. She has planned everything from the ¡®pheras¡¯ to the ¡®Sindoor¡¯ to a Goa honeymoon.
She believes that it is necessary to have a love for each other in a marriage and said that since she loved herself, she is marrying herself.
Initially, her parents were astonished, but they later agreed with their daughter¡¯s decision. The news of her marriage had mixed reactions from the Twitteratis; some mocked her, while others supported self-acceptance.
