Coronavirus cases continue to soar across India with the country having reported 22,252 new infections and 467 deaths in a span of 24 hours, taking the tally up to 7.2 lakh. Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state after Maharashtra in India with 1,14,978 coronavirus cases and 1,571 deaths. With a tally of over 70,000 positive cases and 24,000 active cases and 1079 deaths, Chennai accounts for more than 60 per cent of Tamil Nadu's total.
Lockdown restrictions have reportedly been relaxed in Chennai and three other districts of Tamil Nadu on Monday, after which life has returned to ¡®normal¡¯.
