Mumbai: Man Escapes Miraculously From Under A Bus After An Accident In Powai

Getting in a road accident is unfortunate, but surviving one is as lucky as one can be as the road can be pretty unpredictable and the nature of the accident cannot be predicted.

A man from Mumbai recently survived an accident rather miraculously from under the bus; the video of the incident is now going viral. Watch the video to find out what happened.

A video surfacing on the internet clearly proves that if your time is left on earth, no one can take that away from you. A Mumbai man's time was certainly not over yet.

Recently, in Powai, an anonymous middle-aged Mumbai man was struck by a bus, which then ran over him in front of numerous pedestrians who clearly appeared terrified. The incident occurred on Tuesday at 2:40 p.m. outside the Everest Heights Buildings near the LakeSide complex in the posh Powai neighbourhood. It was caught on camera and tweeted by @mypowai late on Tuesday. The video quickly gained popularity on social media.

In the 45-second video, you can see numerous pedestrians cautiously walking on a congested, narrow road without a divider, as well as slowly moving vehicles, all cramped up on a narrow road together.

An oncoming bus carrying many passengers suddenly strikes a man crossing the street, who was wearing a full white kurta-pyjama and appeared to be a middle-aged man. He stumbles and tries to get up but is again knocked down, and shockingly, the bus passes completely over him.

The bus driver stopped the vehicle and opened his door to look at the disturbance while some surprised onlookers, including a local building security guard, noticed the "accident" that took place and approached the bus. The people on the road can be seen waving and shouting at the bus driver, who halted the vehicle and opened his door to have a look at what had happened.

The video, which is a CCTV capture of the footage, abruptly ends just as the "run-over" man himself stood up from under the bus, reportedly shocked but unharmed, and immediately approached the bus driver to voice his protest.

Traffic in the residential and commercial Powai-Chandivali neighbourhoods has gotten out of control, according to local marketing expert Pradeep S. Menon, as per reports, and the Mumbai Traffic Police and BMC need to take immediate action to prevent accidents, "which may not always result in a miracle." The CCTV footage went viral on social media and left people in shock.
