The cost of its car is around Rs 13.14 crore. Officials said that RIL has registered the petrol variant of the Rolls Royce Cullinan with the Tardeo Regional Transport Office (RTO) in South Mumbai on January 31.
Powerful car
Launched in India in 2018, as a hatchback, this expensive and powerful car is capable of tackling paved and rough roads. The price of this luxury SUV is Rs 6.75 crore which attracts a lot of additional money over the base price of the car. However, there are speculations that due to personal customization, its price has increased. According to the report, Ambani has bought a 'Tuscan Sun' color car for the 12-cylinder car weighing over 2.5 tonnes. It generates a power of 564 bhp.
VIP number plate
RTO officials said that a special number plate has also been obtained for this car at a cost of Rs 12 lakh. RTO officials say that the car ends with the number '0001' on the plate. And since the current series has already been taken for this number, a new series was introduced.
RTO officials said that with the written permission of the Transport Commissioner, the RTO office can start a new series for allotting registration number 0001. For which the applicant has to pay three times more than the fee fixed for the regular number.
Also, the registration for this luxury SUV is valid till January 30, 2037, for which a one-time tax of Rs 20 lakh has been paid by RIL. Apart from this, another amount of Rs 40,000 has been paid towards road safety tax. An RTO official said that this car purchase is believed to be one of the most expensive cars in the country.
Specifications
The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is named after the largest diamond ever discovered. The premium vehicle maker has claimed that this all-terrain high bodied car is the most practical Rolls-Royce ever. The super-luxury SUV is powered by a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine Rolls-Royce engine that generates 563 bhp and 850 Nm of torque with all-wheel drive and all-wheel steer system. This engine is coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and can push the car from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, which is not bad for a car that weighs over 2,700 kg.
The feature list on this SUV includes a wide touchscreen system with BMW-sourced iDrive interface, a part digital-analogue instrument console, a rear entertainment system that includes two 18-inch touchscreens, electronically adjustable seats, a multi-zone climate control system, and whatnot, Times Now reports.
Forget about the blend of plush leather and metal in the interiors, or the electronically controlled folding seats and the raising boot floor, or the fact that the company claims it to be the world¡¯s first SUV to feature a partition glass that seals the rear cabin from the luggage zones (for better climate control and sound insulation).
With all this, the Cullinan is able to cover 100 km on 15.0 litres of fuel, as claimed by the company.
Luxurious cars
Some other industrialists and Bollywood celebrities also run this model. According to the British manufacturer's website, the Cullinan is Rolls-Royce's first all-terrain SUV. There are many expensive luxury cars in RIL's garage. A few years back one of the most sophisticated armoured vehicles was bought for Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani. The company has also provided a BMW in addition to the latest high-end Morris garage cars of the Gloster model for the police personnel deployed for the security of the Ambani family.
