Australian grappler Craig Jones and Brazilian fighter Gabi Garcia were set to face off in a highly anticipated match at the Craig Jones Invitational this weekend.
Jones, a top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) specialist with 55 career wins, and Garcia, a BJJ icon with 71 wins and six additional MMA victories, were expected to deliver a thrilling bout.

During the weigh-in, however, the encounter took an unexpected turn when Jones grabbed Garcia by the head and kissed her on the lips. Garcia, visibly shocked, pushed Jones away while he laughed and ran off.
Ahead of the fight, Garcia had shared her thoughts with MMA Fighting, saying, "He's [Craig Jones] is revolutionising the game with this idea... And for me, it's good marketing. It's more than fighting a man. The American audience has never really liked me, you know? I've always dealt with hate. And for the first time in my career, I feel 99 percent of the people are on my side."
