#Masterstroke Trends On Twitter After The Announcement About Farm Laws, Internet Flooded With Memes

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the three farm laws enacted last year, over which thousands of farmers have been protesting, will be scrapped.

"We tried at all levels to take them into confidence. We were also prepared to modify the sections that they had objections about. I apologise to the countrymen that we were unable to take a section of farmers into confidence," PM Modi said in his televised address to the nation.

"While apologising to the nation, I want to say with a sincere and pure heart that maybe something was lacking in our tapasya (dedication) that we could not explain the truth, as clear as the light of the diya, to some of our farmer brothers. But today is Prakash Parv, not the time to blame anyone. Today, I want to tell the country that we have decided to repeal the three farm laws." the PM said as he appealed to the protesting farmers to end their demonstration and go back to the fields.

Farmers have been protesting the government's three farm laws since had passed the Farmer's Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020.

Farmers were seen celebrating after the announcement and distributing sweets to people at the Ghazipur border.
