Ratan Tata's loyal pet dog 'Goa' is alive and well, confirms Mumbai police officer amid fake news
A false WhatsApp message claimed that Ratan Tata's pet dog 'Goa' died days after Tata's passing. Mumbai Police senior inspector Sudhir Kudalkar verified with Tata's friend Shantanu Naidu that Goa is fine, calling the message fake.
Mumbai Police senior inspector Sudhir Kudalkar disputed a false report on social media concerning the death of late Ratan Tata's pet dog 'Goa'.
A false WhatsApp message claiming that Goa had died was circulating worldwide. The note stated, "Sad news... Tata's pet dog GOA dies three days after his death. That's why they say dogs are more loyal to their owners than humans!"
What did the Mumbai cop do to confirm Goa's well-being?
After receiving the WhatsApp message claiming Goa's death, inspector Sudhir Kudalkar personally confirmed the dog's well-being with Ratan Tata's buddy, Shantanu Naidu. To Sudhir's question, Shantanu replied, "He (Goa) is OK; don't worry. Fake news."
After confirming, inspector Sudhir posted an Instagram reel with the caption, "A WhatsApp message is circulating about Late Ratan Tata Ji¡¯s pet dog, Goa, passed away. I verified this with Shantanu Naidu, who is also known as a close friend of Tata Ji and he confirmed that Goa is doing fine. Please make sure to verify facts before sharing posts."
How did people on the internet react to the good news?
Many people were happy to know that he was doing well. Here's what people wrote.
When did Tata get Goa?
During his funeral, his pet dog, 'Goa', was present to pay homage. The name 'Goa' has a touching origin: when in Goa, a stray dog began following Tata. He adopted the puppy and brought him back to Mumbai, where 'Goa' lived with other stray canines at the Bombay House, the Tata Group's headquarters, which, like the famed Taj Hotel, accepts strays.
