After a long wait, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 was finally teased officially for the first time ahead of its global debut next week.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 teased
Royal Enfield has announced the highly anticipated Super Meteor 650 will be unveiled at the EICMA 2022 motor show in Milan, Italy, on November 8, 2022.
After its global debut next week, the motorcycle might go on sale in the Indian market in early 2023.
The Super Meteor 650 will feature a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular LED headlamp and tail lamp, a wide handlebar, split-type seats, dual exhaust, and a feet-forward riding stance.
Super Meteor 650 will be powered by 649cc parallel-twin engine
The motorcycle will be the brand¡¯s flagship cruiser, powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin engine that we have seen in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. This engine develops 47 BHP and 52 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.
Interestingly, the Super Meteor 650 will be the first motorcycle by Royal Enfield to come with upside-down forks in the front. At the rear, there will still be twin gas-charged units.
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 safety suite will consist of disc brakes in the front and rear. There will be dual-channel ABS for better braking.
It¡¯s likely to get a dual pod setup for the instrument cluster with a semi-digital design and a Tripper navigation pod. The setup looks similar to that of its smaller sibling, the Meteor 350.
The Royal Enfield Cruiser motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
The bike is likely to be showcased at Rider Mania following its global unveiling. The annual bike fest will be held in Goa from November 18 to 20, 2022.
Given the voices coming out of Royal Enfield, it appears the company will only be showing one new motorcycle at EICMA this year. That suggests perhaps the Shotgun 650 is still some time away.
