Saif Ali Khan Attacked: Former nanny says 'unbearable to imagine' how Taimur and Jeh must be feeling
The former nanny of Saif Ali Khan's elder son Taimur, Lalita D'silva, has expressed her concern about the traumatic experience the children must have gone through during the attack. In an interview, she reflected on the frightening situation.
The shocking attack on Saif Ali Khan Thursday morning, when an unknown intruder entered the home he shares with wife Kareena Kapoor and their two children, Taimur and Jeh, has left both the film industry and the nation in shock. New details have emerged, including a statement from Jeh's nanny to the police, revealing that the intruder was heading toward Jeh's room. Now, Taimur's former nanny, Lalita D'silva, has expressed deep concern about the traumatic experience the young children must have endured.
'Feeling very anxious'
Lalita D'silva was Taimur's nanny from his birth in 2016 to 2023. She was a part of Saif and Kareena's household for seven years.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, D¡¯silva noted, "I am feeling very bad, It is unbearable for me to imagine how Taimur and Jeh will be feeling at this point, especially Jeh. They must have got really scared."
Talking further about the attack, D'Silva said, "I am feeling very anxious about this whole incident and firmly believe that the culprits must be punished. I haven't been able to speak to anyone from the family yet, but I wish and pray that they are all safe."
What actually happened in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing incident
The harrowing incident took place around 2 a.m. on Thursday when an intruder broke into Jeh¡¯s room. Nurse Eliyama Philip, who first encountered the attacker, recalled waking up to see a thin figure holding a wooden stick and a blade resembling a hacksaw.
When she attempted to alert Saif and Kareena, the intruder silenced her with threats. Saif, hearing the disturbance, confronted the intruder but was overpowered during the struggle.
After assaulting him, the attacker fled the scene. CCTV footage later showed the suspect leaving the premises at 2:33 a.m., wearing a brown shirt and a red scarf (gamcha).
The Mumbai Police have set up 10 specialised teams to investigate the attack, with authorities actively working to track down the suspect.
Saif was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital, where a team of specialists performed surgery. Dr. Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, shared the details of Saif's condition, stating, "Saif sustained six injuries¡ªtwo minor, two intermediate, and two deep injuries. One injury is on his back, near the spine."
By Thursday afternoon, Saif's team confirmed that he was stable and had been moved to the ICU.
In a statement later that day, Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her family's distress, calling it an "incredibly challenging day," and shared that they were still processing the events.
