Siyaram's Launches 'Anti-Corona Fabric,' Claims It Gives 99.9% Protection From COVID-19
Siyaram's announced the range of anti-corona fabric which has been tested by the World Health Organisation (WHO) approved labs. This initiative has been introduced in a bid to fight the novel coronavirus which has completely wreaked havoc on our lives.
If you have grown up in an Indian household in the '90s and had cable TV, 'Coming home to Siyaram's' is probably a phrase you have heard before. The textile was best-known for suiting up Indian men way before big fashion brands took over.
However, they are back with a wild card: Anti-corona fabric.
Siyaram's announced the range of anti-corona fabric which has apparently been tested by WHO-approved labs. This initiative aims to fight the novel coronavirus which has completely wreaked havoc in our lives.

The fabric is supposed to provide protection from the highly contagious virus and has been developed in association with HealthGuard, an Australian company. HealthGuard has been working in non-invasive healthcare for 25 years, reported Hindustan Times.
According to the company's statement, they are dedicated to research and development of safe and innovative biotech solutions.

The company guarantees that the new fabric is 99.94 per cent effective against coronavirus, and also has non-leaching properties in comparison to other metal based chemistry products. This helps the treated layer of the fabric not dissolve in water. The fabric is made from natural, sustainable and biodegradable materials. Its non-leaching properties ensure that the fabric has a smooth and soft feel.
In a statement, Ramesh Poddar, CMD of Siyaram¡¯s Silk Mills Ltd said that 90% of our body is covered with clothes and viruses have the tendency to thrive on the surface of fabrics for longer hours increasing the exposure of humans to the infection.
Poddar added, ¡°The ¡®Cosmetic based chemistry¡¯ coating utilised in making of our fabric is made of positive compounds and when it comes in contact with the negative compounds, it disintegrates the outer lipid coating and destroys the virus in a matter of few seconds.¡±

However, one still has to ensure that they take other measures so that they don't contract the virus. Wearing a mask, sanitising constantly and maintaining social distancing are still very important.
