North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un Is Back In The News For His Slim Figure & Looks Almost Unrecognizable
Kim Jong-un has seemingly had weight issues for most of his adult life, as it appears to fluctuate many times throughout the year 每 but his latest appearance shows he has seemingly lost significant weight.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been in the news for several months over his leaner frame. He has again grabbed everyone's attention after he opened the annual ruling party meeting.
In his first public appearance since the death of his great uncle earlier this month at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers* Party of Korea, he looked much slimmer.
KCNA said Tuesday that leader Kim Jong Un presided over a plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers' Party, but did not give any remarks made by Kim at the meeting from which journalists were barred.
"The plenary meeting is to review the implementation of main Party and state policies for the year 2021 and discuss and decide on the strategic and tactical policies," Yonhap News Agency quoted the KCNA as saying.
In some previous news, it was mentioned how the North Korean leader may have dropped at least 20 kilograms (44 pounds) over the past several months, according to a South Korean lawmaker briefed by a spy agency official in July.
Kim, overweight and a smoker has been the subject of health speculation for years and his public appearances are closely tracked for insights about the autocratic and secretive regime in Pyongyang, especially since his family has a history of heart disease.
Apparently, Kim loves to fill himself up on Swiss cheese, caviar and lobster while drinking multiple bottles of wine in a night - all while his people are going through poverty.
Before-and-after videos show that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un noticeably lost weight. On Sunday, the country's state media offered a rare public segment on it, although the reason for the weight loss is unclear https://t.co/RhQEqL7dXH pic.twitter.com/H9szU1rA1W

Kim in October told his citizens that they must expect to eat less food until the country re-opens its border with China in 2025, despite the UN*s Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that North Korea is short around 860,000 tons of food this year alone.
A North Korean resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: 'Telling us to endure hardship until 2025 is the same as telling us to starve to death'.
The recent meeting, in which government officials discussed 'guiding the struggle of our Party and people to the next stage of victory', comes as North Korea grapples with compounding economic crises caused by Covid lockdowns, sanctions over its nuclear weapons programme and natural disasters.
