What Did This Famous Sculptor Do In Ayodhya?
Renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, praised for crafting the Ram Lalla idol placed in the newly erected Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya earlier this year, has revealed a small interpretation of the deity in the holy city.
Showcasing snapshots of his recent creation on social media platform X, Yogiraj conveyed his delight in fashioning this smaller depiction during his leisure time in Ayodhya.
Yogiraj shared, "After finalizing the primary Ram Lalla Murti, I dedicated my spare moments in Ayodhya to carve another smaller rendition of Ram Lalla in stone."
His revelation came alongside the unveiling of the images on X.
Notably, Yogiraj previously exhibited the specialized tools used to carve the statue's eyes, underscoring the importance of craftsmanship in capturing the divine essence.
The Ram Lalla idol, standing at a height of 51 inches, was meticulously crafted by Yogiraj from azure-colored Krishna Shila (black schist), depicting Lord Ram as a five-year-old atop a lotus.
This divine portrayal now adorns the inner sanctum, or 'garbha griha,' of the newly constructed Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Uttar Pradesh's sacred city.
Arun Yogiraj's journey into sculpting took an unconventional turn, diverging from his initial pursuit of an MBA and a corporate career to embrace the legacy of his forebears.
Since 2008, he has diligently refined his skills, garnering nationwide recognition for his exceptional sculptures.
