Video Shows Speeding City Bus Mowing Down University Student, Passengers Allege Driver Rammed On Purpose
This incident took place at the Janmahal City Bus Depot of the Central ST Depot. It also caused outrage among the passengers of the depot and against the city bus driver who very evidently rammed the girl on purpose.
A horrific CCTV video has come to light from Vadodara which shows a 24-year-old MSU student being mowed down by a speeding city bus.
The girl named Shivani Solanki was a student of the science faculty at Maharaja Sayajirao University and was a resident of Surat. She was in the final year of Master of Chemistry in the Science Faculty of MS University.
As soon as the accident took place, the girl was rushed to Sayaji Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and died late in the night. "I shouted at the girl student, but she was busy with her mobile," Nasreenben Pathan, a female security guard at Janmahal, said, ¡°I went after the student and saw the bus.¡± 60-year-old Ranjitsinh Solanki said.

The footage showed how Shivani was walking inside the bus depot while talking on the phone. A bus came charging from behind her but she couldn't see it since her back was towards the vehicle. When the bus was a few inches away she turned back but it was too late for her.
According to TOI, Sayajiganj Police has registered a case against the bus driver, Jayesh Parmar and started action against him. The driver had also been arrested.
After hearing about the incident, Shivani's family reached Vadodara. The father of the deceased Shivani works in a diamond grinding company in Surat and has sent his daughter Shivani to Vadodara for studies.
The final year student had gone to Surat to meet the family four days ago and left for Vadodara by train on Tuesday afternoon. Her family was left shattered by this incident.
