Well, one clever Redditor says they've cracked the code to making sure you get a cab every time you try booking.

He recounts how, after waiting long for an Uber auto at Thampanoor railway station with his wife, he decided to change his name in the app to his wife's.
Surprisingly, this small tweak led to a much faster response.
"To my surprise we got the auto very fast. I never used to get uber auto in thampanoor during peak time, but after this change I have got it much faster everytime since," he writes.
He advises: "Next time when you do not get a driver, try this hack."
How did people react?
It seems this Redditor's Uber hack might be more common than one would think.
In the comments, one user shared a similar story from Bahrain: "Haha, this works Everywhere! I was in Bahrain with my girlfriend early this year. After enjoying some late-night street food, I tried booking an Uber but none of the drivers were accepting the ride. I switched to the local apps like Careem and still the same! Got the same idea and asked my girlfriend to book and voila! the first driver accepted."
Another wrote, "A couple of nights ago, my husband and I were booking cabs at around 1am (in Bangalore), he has a christian name which most of the kannadigas/northies in bangalore confuse to be a girl's name. 2-3 cabbies called my husband and cancelled the ride when he said hello since he wasn't a girl. It's more common than you think. I almost always get rides within a couple of minutes while it takes husband a good 15-20 mins."
Have you tried this trick, or do you know of any other cab hacks?
