Tamil Nadu: Man Drives His Car In Reverse Gear For 16 km To Set A New Record
During an event that took place last week at Edappadi Bypass, Chandramouli drove his car backwards for a distance of 16 kilometres and 140 meters in 29 minutes and 10 seconds in the presence of the authorized referee advocate Kumar.
People find all sorts of ways to create a new record which sets them apart. Now, a man in Tamil Nadu drove his car in reverse gear to create a record.
A man drove his car in reverse gear for 16 km and created a new record
35-year-old Chandramouli, who has always been passionate about driving, created the record in Salem district in Tamil Nadu. He attempted the feat last week at Edappadi Bypass and drove the car in reverse gear for 16 kilometres and 140 metres. The performance was completed in 29 minutes and 10 seconds.
He set the record in the presence of an authorized referee advocate identified as Kumar to ensure everyone's safety.
Chandramouli has broken the last record which was set by 22-year-old Tesson Thomas from Pathanamthitta of Kerala. Thomas drove for 30 minutes in reverse gear for 14.2 km.
While talking about his achievement and his motive behind this, Chandramouli said that he wanted youngsters to understand the importance of safety. The man further added that young people should refrain from two-wheeler or four-wheeler stunts on public roads.
Chandramouli said those who engage in such adventurous acts should take all safety measures.
This is not the only case when someone has broken a record for driving a car in reverse. Brian ¡®Cub¡¯ Keene and James ¡®Wilbur¡¯ Wright from the US made it to the Guinness World Book of Records by driving in reverse gear. The duo drove their Chevrolet Blazer for 14,534 km in reverse gear for 37 days between 1 August and 6 September 1984. According to the records, Keene and Wright drove through 15 states in America and even parts of Canada.
A man drove a truck in reverse gear to avoid accidents
Speaking of reverse gear, a truck driver drove in reverse gear after the brakes failed. The truck driver apparently drove his truck in reverse for 3 km to avoid any accidents. Some bikers surrounded this truck to guide him and helped clear traffic. He soon spotted a farm and got help.
Thanks to this truck driver's presence of mind and the help of the people around, a very difficult situation was brought under control.
