Tesla Inc., renowned for its electric vehicles and renewable energy solutions, has announced plans to expand its operations in India. The company is actively recruiting for 13 positions, encompassing both customer-facing and backend roles, as indicated by recent job postings on its LinkedIn page. Sources from the Finance Ministry had revealed that Tesla intends to establish three manufacturing plants in India: one in Gujarat, another in Andhra Pradesh, and a third location yet to be determined. This expansion initiative gained momentum following a meeting between CEO Elon Musk and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Tesla is now looking to hire for various roles in India, including Service Technicians, Service Managers, Inside Sales Advisors, Customer Support Supervisors, Service Advisors, and more.
These positions are part of the company's plans to expand its presence in India, with job postings reflecting a wide range of opportunities from operational to customer-facing roles.
Although Tesla's involvement in India has been limited due to high import duties in the past, recent changes in the country's policies are making it a more appealing market.
India's reduction in customs duties on luxury cars priced over $40,000 from 110% to 70%, along with the country¡¯s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and reaching net-zero by 2070, offers a promising outlook for electric vehicle growth.
As a result, Tesla is now accelerating its efforts to tap into the Indian market.
