Watch: While The World Struggles, Tourist Sites In China Packed With People, As Lockdown Ends
As rest of the world is still staggering to its feet to fight coronavirus, China seems to be doing well. Few days ago there were reports of factories reopening in the country and now that it has lifted lockdown, people flocked to tourist sites in thousands without paying any heed to the health authorities that the pandemic is far from over.
Images from the Huangshan mountain park in Anhui province show thousands of people crammed together, while wearing face masks, desperate to experience the ¡®outside¡¯ after months of lockdown and travel restrictions.
The place was so overcrowded, that at at 7.48 a.m., authorities issued a notice declaring that the park had reached its 20,000 person daily capacity, and would not be accepting any more visitors, media Global Times reports.
In Shanghai too, the famous Bund waterfront was overflowing with shoppers and tourists.
Meanwhile in Shanghai, the famous Bund waterfront was once again packed with shoppers and tourists, after weeks of being nearly deserted. Restaurants that were shut just days ago were found doing good trade. Similar was the case in the country¡¯s capital Beijing, as locals flocked to the city parks and open spaces.
After months of lockdown, Monday, April 5 was the first day that no new death were reported in China owing to coronavirus.
The government is relaxing restrictions in the country, however the Chinese health experts are urging the public to continue to practice caution.
Talking to Health Times, Zeng Guang, chief epidemiologist with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the pandemic has not yet ended in China.
"China is not near the end, but has entered a new stage. With the global epidemic raging, China has not reached the end," he reportedly said. Given the fall in country¡¯s reported number of positive cases, the government is restarting the manufacturing and service industries.

After pictures of overcrowded Huangshan started floating on social media, the official newspaper of the ruling Communist Party, People's Daily, issued a reprimand to people: ¡®Do not gather!¡¯
Needless to mention that the lockdown affected every sector of China¡¯s economy.
However, the government is being wary of opening up everything too quickly; reopening of movie cinemas were cancelled in late March. Numerous tourist attractions were reportedly open in Shanghai for 10 days before they were closed again on March 31.
Reopening of these public spaces is a matter of concern, also because China is reporting COVID-19 cases where the patients are asymptomatic.
The government and the citizens should take precaution right now, so as to not be a victim of another wave.
