Woman Drives Uber Herself From Pune To Mumbai, After The Driver Falls Asleep At The Wheel
Tejaswini Divya Naik hired an Uber cab to take her from Pune to Mumbai. Her Uber driver fell asleep at the wheel twice and almost rammed the car into traffic. Once Naik was fully-aware and positive about the fact that he was falling asleep she asked him to stop the car on the side and told him to let her drive.
Falling asleep at the wheel is a more common problem than you would like to think. Especially, in today's day and age of overworked people, everyone is perpetually physically exhausted. However, when your job demands you to be responsible for another person's life, you should be well in your senses to carry out the required activity. The reason we are addressing this issue is because a woman's life was put at risk in Maharashtra, when her Uber driver repeatedly kept falling asleep at the wheel.
According to a boomerang video she posted on Twitter, Tejaswini Divya Naik hired an Uber cab to take her from Pune to Mumbai. Her post includes her Instagram story where she has mentioned that her Uber driver fell asleep at the wheel twice and almost rammed the car into traffic. Once Naik was fully-aware and positive about the fact that he was falling asleep, she asked him to stop the car on the side and told him to let her drive.

After five minutes of convincing the driver, he eventually agreed and Naik took over the wheel till Mumbai. Once she reached her destination, she refused to pay for the trip and tweeted out to Uber India about the whole incident that had taken place.
Uber India has replied to her tweet, asking her for her contact details, so that they could look into this further. However, according to the thread, no significant action has been taken by the digital cab service company. Based on Times Now's report, Naik was told to file an FIR in order to claim the compensation.
There were also reactions to Naik's Twitter post that criticised her for posting a story while driving. However, Naik gave a fitting reply to those whose concern was taking the narrative in another direction altogether and not addressing the matter at hand.

Naik also expressed that she feels empathetic towards the driver who must have been exhausted since he had possibly been driving since 4-5 AM in the morning. However, on the other hand, putting someone's life at risk is completely unacceptable and that the driver should not have accepted her ride request.
