An Indian employee working for a UK-based company, Vivek Panchal, shared on X that his company has given a 15-day holiday for Christmas and New Year. The post went viral, sparking debates about Indian work culture, where such extended holidays are rare.
An Indian employee working for a UK-based company has made thousands of white-collar professionals feel horrible about their jobs by revealing that his company has proclaimed a holiday till January 6 to celebrate Christmas and New Year. Vivek Panchal took to the social media site X earlier this week to share a screenshot of a message he received from a coworker, probably his manager, alerting him that the company would give its staff 15 days off to celebrate the holidays.

¡°Hello Vivek, from Monday it¡¯s holidays till Jan 6th, for Christmas and new year,¡± read the message.
Vivek shared the message on X, describing the 15-day sabbatical as a benefit of working for a British company. "Benefits of working in a UK based company," he stated in his piece.
Since being uploaded three days ago, the tweet has received over half a million impressions and sparked a lively debate about Indian workplace culture, where such company-sponsored holidays are almost unheard of.
How did people on the internet react?
Several professional employees commented on his message, lamenting their own jobs and desi work culture. One X user described it as "Narayana Murthy in a parallel universe," referring to the Infosys founder, who recently reaffirmed his controversial push for a 70-hour work week.

Several participants mentioned how Indian technologists, who frequently work for American or European clients, got the worst of both worlds. Many people also urged Indian firms to provide similar holidays for festivals like Diwali.
In India we need such long holidays...2 days are not sufficient for diwali

Not only UK all the western countries follow this. Only India and some Asian countries follow the client first attitude and work 24x7 and 365 days work strategy
