As per the woman's post on social media, the flight crew offered her a bizarre reason for the mosquitoes on the flight. They said, ¡®Door open tha, macchar aa gaye, kuch nahi kar sakte (The door was open, so the mosquitoes entered. Can¡¯t do anything.'
Additionally, for the solution, the flight allegedly gave her a 'lemongrass patch' that hardly created an impact. She further said, "We paid ?4,000+ per ticket for this. Not cheap. Not low-cost. Just low-effort. And this brings me to my pet peeve. Why do services in India suck so much unless you¡¯re paying a hefty premium? Everything that offered decent value ¡ª Vistara, BluSmart ¡ª shuts down. What survives is mediocrity, poor hygiene, and apathy."

"They should keep those electric racquets under the seat along with the life jacket. Also, their security demos could include how to handle the mosquitoes with those. I can already imagine the routine and can't stop laughing.?," one jokingly said.

Cockroach infestation, expired food items and more : Past services of IndiGo
Well, this is not the first time that the airline has faced a hygiene complaint. Apart from the long delays often complained about by passengers on social media, in February 2025, during inspections carried out in various establishments across the states, they revealed serious food safety issues.
According to the Commissioner of Food Safety of Telangana, the task force noted various significant violations during their visit to Instahot Foods Pvt. Ltd., located in IDA Patancheru, Hyderabad, which supplies products to IndiGo.
