It's been almost a month since we heard of five-star hotel charging actor Rahul Bose a whopping Rs 442.50 for two bananas.
While we are still getting over that shock, along comes another, more squirmy one, and this time it was exposed by Priyanka Chopra¡¯s cousin, actor Meera Chopra.
Bollywood actor Meera Chopra was dining at the five-star hotel DoubleTree by Hilton in Ahmedabad, when she received a plate of hash worms with live wiggling maggots in it.
Shocked by what she witnessed, Chopra made a quick post about it on Instagram and slammed the hotel authorities for their hygiene standards.
She wrote, 'And got maggots in my food. U pay bomb fr these hotels nd they feed u maggots. Its so shocking @fssai_safefood plz take some immediate action. Where are the health safety regulations now!! #maggots #doubletreebyhilton'.
A livid Chopra went on to say in the video. "So I¡¯ve been staying here since the last one week. And since the time I checked in, I¡¯ve been falling unwell. I¡¯ve been falling sick, and now I see the reason.¡±
"Now I see the reason. For the first time, I could just see worms in my food. Let's just put this out on the social media. Thanks guys," she adds.
According to an Indian Express report, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) replied to her tweet saying that the concern was raised with their Regulatory Compliance division and asked for some time to address the issue.
High end hotels are usually assumed to be cleaner, looks like we can't be sure of that anymore.
