Bizarre: A Wasp Stings A Coral Snake While It Was Feasting On A Dead Rat Snake
In today's wild nature video, we have a snake eating another dead snake, but that's not all, we also have a fiesty wasp stinging a snake.
Evangeline Cummings posted a video on Twitter of what appears to be a wasp stinging a coral snake that was dangling from a branch attempting to eat a dead snake.
Um ok, ?@UFEntomology? and ??@MartaWayneUF? , I believe I just witnessed a BEE ? stinging a CORAL SNAKE ? while the CORAL was dining on a RAT (?) SNAKE ? and I need your support to process this. ??@UF? #FloridaBackyard pic.twitter.com/djbJJGxaUk

Cummings was in her Gainesville backyard when she noticed the coral snake trying to eat another snake when a wasp comes flying out of nowhere and launching a vicious sting.
"I actually took an initial pic of the hanging snake and can now see (if I look closer) the coral snake," Cummings told ScienceAlert.
"I never thought a yellowjacket wasp would then join the fray," Cummings recalls. "That wasp just showed up while I was filming and it looked as though it stung the coral snake."
"It was truly an amazing experience to witness nature in action," said Cummings. And thanks to her quick wits and a camera, we get to enjoy it, too.
In the video, a wasp appears and starts circling the snake and stings, the snake can be seen writhing in pain right after.
