Who Was The Young Lad Behind The Epic Jugaad?
Even though the clip has gained nearly 500K views on Twitter, the identity of the young genius has not been revealed. Much like most viral videos on the internet, this clip¡¯s origins are also hard to map.
What Happened In The Video?
Well, if you are wondering what made the video such a hit with the people on the internet, here¡¯s a quick recap! In the clip, a youngster was seen using a brilliant jugaad to battle an eclipse of moths that were hovering near a house light.
To get rid of the moths, the boy used the flashlight on his phone to misdirect the bugs and their attention. He tried to catch the attention of the moths with the flashlight then turned off the house light. He then tricked them into following the light from his phone while guiding them out of the house before redirecting them to the main street light.
Where Was The Video Shot?
It is unclear where the clip was shot. However, it was shared on Twitter by username @Yaadgar on October 20.
Why Are Moths Attracted To Lights?
For a long time, scientists have been puzzled by why moths are so attracted to light, even though it can be dangerous for them. Most moths that are active at night like to go towards light, but some types, like the Old Lady moth, actually prefer to stay away from it.
Insects, especially moths, are very sensitive to this kind of light. Many different ideas have been suggested to explain why this happens. One idea suggests that moths are drawn to the moon, leading them to fly higher on nights with bright moons.
Another more plausible theory proposes that moths rely on the moon or stars for direction, adjusting their flight path to maintain a consistent angle to the light source. However, while celestial light rays appear parallel, lamp light radiates in various directions, making it distinct from natural light sources.
