Uttarakhand: Car With 'Papa' Number Plate Attracts Fine, Internet Praises Police
Uttarakhand Police fined the owner of a car with a number plate that read 'Papa' after they received a complaint on Twitter.
Indian streets are full of cars with swanky stickers and unusual things written all over them. However, when someone fiddles with the number plate then things can go wrong.
Car with 'papa' number plate
Recently, a car with a number plate which had 'papa' written over it was fined by Uttarakhand police. The police department took to Twitter to share before and after pictures of the number plate.
The police officials had apparently gotten a complaint about this number plate. The Twitter handle, however, used the popular number 'Papa kehte hai' and added its own twist to it to talk about the car's number plate.
"Papa kehte hain bada naam karega, gadi ki plate par Papa likhega, Magar ye to koi na jaane, ki aisi plate par hota hai challan (Papa says my son will be famous, he will get 'Papa' written on number plate, But no one knows that such plates get fined)," Uttarakhand Police wrote while sharing the photos.
The department added, "After receiving a complaint through a tweet, #UttarakhandPolice called the vehicle owner to the traffic office, got the number plate changed and fined the owner."

People praised the police department
People on the internet praised the police department for taking action against this car. Some even gave suggestions as to what all can be done so that incidents like these don't keep occurring.
One user said, "Hahaha Uttarkhand police got no chill." Another user wrote, "Pro active measure should be taken to prevent these things in future." A third added, "Kya baat hai! shayrana andaaz me Uttarakhand Police."
Don't write songs. Instead develop an app where common man can share pics and offense and you can get streamlined data. You dont need Twitter for this.

Various people in the country are quite fascinated with number plates. Many even go the extra mile to make sure their car's number plate stands out. Recently, a Honda Activa owner in Chandigarh splurged more than Rs 15 lakh to get himself a super VIP '0001' number plate.
Despite the scooter in question being priced at Rs 71,000 (ex-showroom, starting price), the man brought the number plate which is much costlier than the vehicle itself. Mr Brij Mohan, the owner of the Activa scooter bought this fancy number in a recent auction held by the Chandigarh Registering and Licensing Authority.
Typical Indian things.
