Cars washed away in Jodhpur due to heavy rain
In the now-viral video, cars can be seen getting washed up due to the strong currents of the gushing water. An edited clip shared by news agency ANI shows multiple cars going backwards due to the heavy rainfall that prompted a flood-like situation in Jodhpur.

As per local media, it was the first heavy rainfall of the monsoon season in Jodhpur and the city got flooded after three hours of heavy rain. Worst-hit areas were low-lying localities where rainwater flooded the streets.

In view of the prevailing situation, the Jodhpur district collector declared a holiday in schools on Tuesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for parts of Rajasthan. According to the MeT department, the monsoon will remain active in many parts of the state amid the activity of two new western disturbances.
Rajasthan continues to be battered by rains
Besides Jodhpur, Ajmer also received heavy rainfall, with the city recording the highest rainfall of 9 cm in the state during the last 24 hours that ended at 8.30 AM on Monday, as per MeT.

Light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in Banswara, Sawai Madhopur, Rajsamand, Jhalawar, Sirohi, Dungarpur, Ganganagar, Bikaner, Nagaur and Jalore districts.
The heavy rains led to the highway connecting Sheopur (MP) to Kota (Rajasthan) remaining closed for two days due to water flowing above from small size bridges built on roads.
In addition to Rajasthan, the IMD has put the whole of Gujarat on an orange alert. Some parts of Gujarat will also be on a red warning during this time, which is the highest level of alert under the IMD.
Over the past two weeks, some sort of low-pressure formation near Gujarat has been dumping torrential rains over the state, leading to flooding in many areas and significant city and movement disruptions, The Weather Channel reported.
