Watch: Chandigarh Dhaba's 'Petrol-Diesel Parantha' Has Internet Wondering If It's A Prank
Foodies, brace yourselves! There's a dhaba in Chandigarh selling 'petrol-diesel paranthas' and it's already giving people tummy-ache. Foodies, brace yourselves! There's a dhaba in Chandigarh selling 'petrol-diesel paranthas' and it's already giving people tummy-ache. If you thought the gold and silver pani puri from Bengaluru, the momo omelettes from Delhi or the 'Burj Khalifa gola' were bizarre (and unnecessary) on their own, then this video is going to really open your eyes. While not everything sounds appetising, one thing's for sure: this perpetual need to push the envelope when it comes to food is touching a whole new level of bizarre. Here's what went on.
Who is behind the petrol-diesel parantha?

Going by the three-minute-and-thirteen-second-long video posted on X by a page called "@nebula_world," a cook at a dhaba in Chandigarh tells the camera, proudly so, that the type of parantha he's cooking really uses petrol and diesel. "Kachori ka taste aata hai," claims the man recording the video as if that'll do the trick and convince people to try the food item.
The clip opens with the cook pouring the fuel from a tin can, and upon repeatedly being asked if it really was petrol, the man answers in the affirmative. He proceeds to then "deep fry" a parantha in the fuel until it turns an uncomfortable shade of black and brown. He then holds the plate in front of the camera, clearly proud of his creation.

The video was shared on May 12, and has so far raked in 406.8K views, 1040 likes and comments that give away the internet's clear dislike. "True recipe for cancer," te video was captioned, and the rest of the commenters followed suit, leaving comments in the same vein. "Yeh diesel mein aag kyun nahi lag rahi," questioned one, wondering if that indeed was the fuel that powers vehicles. "At least he wore a cap on his head so there's no hair in the cancer paratha," was another X user's sarcastic comment. "Still safer than whey protein and eggs," chimed in a third.
