Company asks interviewee to come with a Starbucks coffee, candidate declines with a savage reply

Going for a job interview is always nerve-racking for a candidate. An interviewee always prepares for the interview by going through their CV and probably prepares to answer some general questions that are always asked in an interview. The company usually expects the candidate to come in with their CV and portfolio of work, and that's it. No company has ever asked a candidate to come with a coffee order, but this company did.

A Redditor shared their bizarre experience of being called in for an interview with a coffee order and their reply is nothing short of savage. Here's what happened.

A Reddit user shared a rather unique experience of being called in for an interview with a coffee order. The candidate got a call before the interview and was requested to bring a Starbucks coffee cup with very specific instructions.

He wrote in the post, "They called back in ten minutes to confirm that owner is going to be available for the interview and to inform me I needed to bring a medium cold Starbucks coffee (no sugar) to the interview. As if that wasn't enough, they also asked about my nationality, my parents' nationality, and my age."

The candidate wasn't desperate for the job so they savagely rejected the offer. In a screenshot attached to the post, the candidate replied, "Hi Simon. Unfortunately, I've decided to pursue other opportunities that don't require a pit stop at Starbucks on the way to the interview. Best of luck finding a candidate with the right blend of skills and coffee-running enthusiasm!"

To which the company representative replied, "You should have told me that you weren't going to come for the job interview. You put me in a very bad position with the owner of the company. This was very unprofessional."
