By the end of 2012, selfies were a worldwide phenomenon. Everybody on the planet was down to get that perfect angle accompanied by the famous pout for their selfies. But how far do you think this obsession has gone?
Couple Takes Selfie Right After Deadly Plane Crash
Recently, a couple posted a selfie on the Internet but the most shocking part of the post was that they had posed with smiles with a crashed plane in the background. The plane crash had taken place in Peru and the couple had been passengers on the doomed flight. Most people experience shock or are scared after such a traumatic experience but this couple thought they'd make the most of the moment. Perhaps they were glad they had survived the deadly crash.
What upset most users online was the apparent insensitivity of the couple who had the nerve to sneak in a selfie after such a devastating event had occurred. The plane crash took place at the Jorge Ch¨¢vez International airport in Lima, Peru on Friday. A fire truck had crashed into the plane as it was taking off in the afternoon, reports claim.

The image swiftly gained traction on the internet as people noticed the utter sensitivity of the couple for posting and taking pictures after an accident had resulted in human casualties. The post garnered more than 200K likes and nearly 13K retweets.
A user noted, ¡°Isn't it kind of inappropriate to post selfies of a tragedy where human beings have died?¡± Another added, ¡°It's stupid to upload a selfie at that moment knowing that those who crashed did die.¡±
Although most people in the comments were upset with the post, some stood up in favour of the couple, ¡°Because there are always people who look at the bad, let one do what they want with their life.¡±
There were those who did not forget to laud the firefighters who were compromised in the crash, ¡°The driver of the fire truck turns to the left at the last moment, failing to avoid the plane, but with this action he avoids grabbing it squarely. A direct crash would have been fatal to the plane's passengers. That firefighter with that last action saved the lives of hundreds.¡±
