Days Before Election Results, Videos Of EVMs Stacked In Cars & Local Shops Go Viral
Shocking videos of EVMs and VVPAT machines being stored and moved from one unauthorised storage house to another is taking Twitter by storm. In the videos some machines are allegedly seen storedin local shops while others are seen stacked in the boot of private vehicles. In yet another video a man can be seen alleging that the EVMs were brought in at a polling station in Jhansi without informing the candidates.
Days before the results of Lok Sabha elections 2019 are to be declared, several shocking videos of EVMs and VVPAT machines being stored and moved from one unauthorised storage house to another, is taking Twitter by storm. In the videos, some machines are allegedly seen stored in local shops, while others are seen stacked in the boot of private vehicles.
In one such video shot in Uttar Pradesh¡¯s Chandauli district, a group of men can be seen unloading the voting machines and piling them up inside a shop. In another video, which was shared by an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker, who alleged that the video was shot in Punjab showed EVM and VVPAT machines lying in the car. She even leveled allegation against BJP.

Officials claim these are reserve machines. But they have no answer why the movement of EVM was not informed to candidates.

Meanwhile, BSP candidate Afzal Ansari contesting the Lok Sabha elections has alleged that EVMs are being replaced in Ghazipur.
The apprehensions regarding EVMs are baseless. EVMs are in strong room with 24¡Á7 CISF security. And candidates have been allowed to post their agents to monitor the strong room.

Similar allegations of EVM tampering has come to light at many more places like Jhansi, Mau, Mirzapur, parts of Haryana, Punjab and Bihar.
"All these EVMs that were being transported. There were no unknown persons involved. In Jhansi, a city magistrate was there. In all other instances a Sub Divisional Magistrate and tehsildar were in the know and were taking these EVMs . No unauthorised vehicle or person was involved," Uttar Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer Lakku Venkateshwarlu said.

In Bihar, Lalu Yadav's Rashtriya Janata Dal alleged the suspicious movement of EVMs in Maharajganj and Saran parliamentary constituencies. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav tweeted last night:
Visuals and claims of sudden movement of EVMs observed across the north India! Why is it so? Who is transporting these EVMs & Why? What is purpose and objective of this exercise? In order to avoid any confusion & misconception, Election Commission must issue a statement ASAP.

The opposition parties are demanding tallying of EVM figures in an entire Assembly constituency in case anything foul is found.
After the videos created a huge buzz on social media, Election Commission of India clarified by that the EVMs are safe after a press release by Press Information Bureau was released.
