A man from Arkansas, USA, quite recently discovered one of the largest diamonds yet in the state well-known for the precious gems. The stone weighed over nine carats, said a report by Forbes. The man, Kevin Kinard, initially thought it might have just been glass.
33-year-old Kevin found the stone while he was searching for diamonds at the Crater of Diamonds State Park on Labor Day, Arkansas State Parks revealed in a news release.
It happens to be the second-largest ever found at Crater of Diamonds State Park since it opened in 1972. The largest diamond ever unearthed in the US was the 16.37-carat 'Amarillo Starlight' which was discovered in August 1975.
MP Labourer Finds Diamonds Worth Rs 35 Lakh In Panna Mines
A labourer in Madhya Pradesh became a millionaire overnight too after he found three diamonds worth roughly between Rs 30 lakh and 35 lakh at a diamond mine in Panna district of the state.
The labourer has reportedly been identified as Subal. He was digging in a shallow mine when he unearthed the diamonds. Panna district's diamond officer R K Pandey said that the net weight of the diamonds was 7.5 carat, PTI reported. Experts have estimated the value of the diamonds to be anywhere between Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh.
Miner Digs Out 442-Carat Diamond That Might Be Worth Rs 135 Crore!
Sometime back, a small diamond miner dug out a huge diamond that could be very valuable.
Gem Diamonds Ltd. unearthed a 442-carat diamond at its Letseng mine in Lesotho. According to analyst at BMO Capital Markets, Edward Sterk, the diamond could sell for as much as $18 million (Rs 135 crore, approximately).
According to the Gulf News the Letseng mine is famous for the size and quality of the diamonds it produces and has the highest average selling price in the world. Around two years ago, Gem Diamonds found a 910-carat stone, the size of two golf balls. It sold for $40 million.
Massive 11 Carat Diamond Worth Rs 50 Lakh Found In Panna Mine In Madhya Pradesh
A massive 10.69 carat diamond, with an estimated value of Rs 50 lakh, was unearthed in a mine in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district.
Anandilal Kushwaha, who has a lease of a mine in Ranipur area, deposited a 10.69 carat diamond with the local diamond office (Hira Karyalaya), Panna's diamond officer R K Pandey was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Kushwaha had also recently deposited a 70-cent diamond, he said, adding that this was the first big find after the coronavirus-induced lockdown was eased in the district.
