Watch: Furious Doctor Thrashes Patient With Stick After An Argument At A Hospital In Odisha

When you go to a hospital with an ailment, you expect to be taken care of. Despite the fact that government hospitals in India aren't top-notch, you do expect the authorities in the hospital to at least show some empathy.

However, a bizarre incident occurred in an Odisha hospital where a doctor continuously thrashed a young patient. This incident occurred at Dharamgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in Odisha¡¯s Kalahandi district. The entire incident was taped on camera.

In the said video, the doctor, wearing a blue T-shirt and quarter pants, can be seen repeatedly hurling punches and kicking the helpless patient despite the on-duty security guards trying to stop him.

The doctor who is identified as Sailesh Kumar Dora was chasing and running behind the patient with a wooden stick while also passing serious casteist remarks against him.

According to Odisha Tv, the patient who is a resident of the Dharamgarh area had come to the hospital with the complaint of several stomach ache. The physicians at the hospital examined and prescribed him some medicines. The patient took the pills and rested in the hospital premises but his stomach ache did not subside as he had expected.

This is when the patient tried to meet Dora to understand why his stomach is still hurting. However, the on-duty security guard explained to him the doctor had gone to the washroom. When Dora came back, he saw the patient in pain. After some talking, the conversation shifted to an argument after which Dora was seen beating the patient.

After the incident, Dora and the patient lodged two separate FIRs against each other at the local police station.

In the FIR Dora has mentioned that he beat up the patient to defend himself. However, the patient along with his family members and many locals of Dharamgarh have resorted to blocking the nearby NH-130 demanding strict legal action against the irresponsible doctor who lost his patience for absolutely no reason and didn't show professionalism at work.

Police authorities have been deployed at the spot to maintain law and order before things get out of control. ¡°We have registered a case and detained the physician on this incident. Further investigation is on,¡± said Dhiraj Kumar Chopdar, the sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Dharamgarh.
