Shameful! TN Forest Officials Thrash Elephants, Beat Them With Sticks & Pull Them With Rope
Cases of animal cruelty are becoming increasingly common. Be it animals buried alive or those bullied or beaten to death, heartless humans get away with their heinous actions because laws against animal cruelty are almost non-existent in our country.
Recently, images showing three elephants, from Kanchi Mutt in Tamil Nadu, tied up with ropes and being beaten with sticks led to massive outrage online.
And the people holding the sticks are none other than forest officials! When the elephants did not get on a truck the authorities started using force.
Reportedly the ¡®Madras High Court had recently ordered the relocation of the three elephants to a camp in Tiruchirappalli.¡¯
The forest officials have reportedly denied allegations of abuse and have claimed that trained men were called to transport the animals.
Only yesterday PETA shared a video on Twitter where one could see men beating and exploiting elephants to play a ¡®game¡¯ in Nepal. The video was captioned, ¡®Elephants beaten & bleeding in expos¨¦ of Nepal¡¯s Chitwan Elephant Festival. They¡¯re viciously beaten with sticks and bullhooks so that they "play" polo or football.¡¯

On one hand, a video of a baby elephant saving a man from drowning is going viral, on the other we see humans treating these animals with as much disregard as they are capable of.
