Taking to his newly-bought venture, Mr Musk took to Twitter and said that he plans to buy Coca-Cola next "to put the cocaine back in".

Soon after his tweet, the SpaceX founder posted a screenshot of a previous tweet where he said, "Now I'm going to buy McDonald's and fix all the ice cream machines," and jokingly responded to himself with "Listen I can't do miracles ok".

This is not the first time Mr Musk has taken to the microblogging website to post bizarre statements. In the past, the billionaire polled Twitter users asking if he should sell 10 per cent of his Tesla stock in order to pay for unrealised capital gains, after which he actually sold off nearly $7 billion in Tesla shares when over 57 per cent of poll participants voted in favour of his suggestion.
Much is made lately of unrealized gains being a means of tax avoidance, so I propose selling 10% of my Tesla stock.

During the weeks leading up to his Twitter takeover, Musk was only set to join the board. However, he tweeted a series of ideas that, according to him, had the potential to improve the microblogging website. He even suggested adding an "edit button". He also expressed bizarre ideas like turning the company's San Francisco headquarters into a homeless shelter.
His most recent tweet regarding Coca-Cola seems like a jab at the beverage company's history with cocaine. Coca Cola's eponymous trademark soft drink is named after two of its primary ingredients: coca leaves and kola nuts. Kola nuts are a source of caffeine, and coca leaves are the base from which the psychoactive drug cocaine is extracted.
Back in the nineteenth century, cocaine-laden coca leaves used to be a primary component of the soft drink's formula when the substance was still categorised as medicinal. However, the drug was declared illegal and cocaine was removed from Coca-Cola's secret formula. It was replaced with decocainised coca leaves.
